Our Functional Development Program is a structured, individualized training program designed to improve strength, coordination, balance, and motor skills in individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Each session follows a consistent routine to support learning, focus, and progression in a safe, supportive environment.
Parents can expect their child to work on practical, functional movements such as squats, step-ups, sled pushes, balance drills, and coordination exercises. These activities are selected to improve everyday movement, build confidence, and support greater independence over time.
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
The program begins with an initial assessment to evaluate movement, coordination, strength, balance, and ability to follow instructions. This helps identify the individual’s current level and key areas for development.
Based on this, we create a fully individualized program using simple, functional movements. Sessions follow a consistent structure to build familiarity while allowing for safe and gradual progression.
Coaching is hands-on and adaptive, with clear instruction, guidance, and repetition to support learning. Exercises are progressed over time to build strength, confidence, and independence.
Progress is continuously monitored and adjusted to match the individual’s development. Parents can expect improvements in movement, focus, and overall functional ability.
